Marjetka Hrovatin

In 2007, she and her co-author Ivan Esenko published the first book about a garden pond in Slovenia, Vodni vrt (‘The Water Garden’), which delighted many nature lovers. She has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering. From her visits to gardens and parks around the world, she brought fresh ideas to Slovenia and shared them in pictures and words with the readers of her works. Managing a home vegetable, fruit and ornamental garden with a water motif in the midst of unspoilt nature along the Kolpa River is an important part of her life, and her profession is thus intertwined with her way of life.
